Learning Objectives: Competencies developed in the course: At the end of this course, the participating students will have acquired skills that will allow them to: - Explain, understand and apply the concept of "religion" and its relationship with society, from the various points of view with which they are faced. - Describe historical examples in which religion and society have been significantly related, in societies such as The European, Spanish or American - Understand experiences of coexistence between various religious groups in the context of the history of Spain - Analyze conflicts of religious origin in the context of the history of Spain - To describe and apply the philosophical principles of the structuring of modern states from various political tendencies, as well as the role that religion has in this structuring. - Relating specific issues of ethics, social justice and sustainability with religions in today's societies (Cases from Spain and the United States) - Learn to raise personal and group issues in which personal identity is related to elements of racial, religious, social, cultural type. - Identify real challenges and possibilities of today's citizen in this multi-religious and multicultural society.
