Analyze how the colonial contact between Europeans, Africans, and American Indigenous populations shapes contemporary identity politics of race, class, gender, and sexuality across the African Diaspora. 3. Study how Black women’s global literary traditions both shape and are shaped by the identity politics resulting from the African Diaspora’s formation. 4. Explore points of thematic / conceptual connection and divergence between Black women’s writing across the globe.
